hand-sized bites of heaven

hand-sized bites of heaven

If you’re in the mood for cupcakes and you’re travelling around the States, look for the Georgetown Cupcake location nearest you.  I guarantee your mouth will thank you over and over again, and you won’t forget your epicurean experience any time soon.  My husband and I visited one of their Washington, DC, locations back when there were only two from which to choose—the Georgetown one (which we patronized) and the Bethesda spot.  Now, they’ve set up shop in New York (SoHo) and Boston, too. The grand opening of their Los Angeles location is in two days, and they’re scheduled to bring their goodies to Atlanta in the spring of 2013.

One cupcake will set you back $2.75 (USD); it’s $15 for half a dozen and $29 for a full dozen.  The flavours of the cupcakes pictured above are maple (foreground), red velvet (l), and chocolate2 (r).  All three disappeared from our box of six in less than 10 minutes.  That’s how delicious they are.  The maple one is just so creamy and melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious that I was almost sorry we got an assortment of flavours instead of an entire box of just maple.  My husband delighted in the chocolate ganache (not pictured) for the thick liquid chocolate oozing from its centre and the red velvet whose cream-cheese frosting perfectly balanced the cake bottom.  But seriously, even if you just sorta like the ingredients in any of their offerings, you won’t be disappointed with whatever choice you make.

Visit their online world at www.georgetowncupcake.com for more information, and if you do get your hands on one of these hand-sized bites of heaven, let me know how much better it made your day!
